A damp, heavy sky started the day but this changed to a warm sunny day which improved as the day progressed. This lead to the later players having the best of the conditions and that is where the leaders came from.
For some time 42 points was leading but was eventually overtaken by the last pairing. Anthony J Smith & Eugen Kupich (Stockwood Vale GC) had an excellent 47 points and their partners John Sharpe (Bath GC) & Robert Price (Burnham & Berrow GC) had 44 points.
Ian Clements & Des Gingell (Cumberwell Park GC) took 3rd place. First members were Ian Nicol & Stephen Rowse, who was a last minute replacement for an injured player. A good choice to play!
