LADIES OPEN

Thursday 4th September 2025, Red Tees, Wells Golf Club

(85% handicap allowance)

After fear of a wet start, the rain held off for most of the day and competitors set off into the sunshine.  The course looked very green compared to a few days ago.  Sadly, the ball was not running so far.

There was a great atmosphere in the clubhouse, with a crafts fair, ladies golfing attire sale and a large raffle table. Coffee and pastries to start and cake at the halfway house made for a sweet day.

The winners were a home team with 72 pts.  Kathy Orme (26), Lindsey Sloman (27) & Sara Jones (24).

The first visitor's team were Debbie Ramsell (34), Shirley Hale (20) & Deborah Hetherington (21) Came Down GC with 70 pts on countback.  It was great to see Debbie Ramsell at Wells. (Her previous club).

Second visitors were Sue Vowles (8), Hazel Bevan (19) & Elaine Cullen (17) Burnham & Berrow GC   with 70 pts.  Just ahead on countback from their friends from Burnham & Berrow GC, Nicola Diamond (20), Donna McHenry (25) & Alison Deakins (21) .

After being the leaders in the clubhouse for most of the day, the second members team was Philippa Gowen (13), Susan Marshall (7) & Jackie Owen (24) with 70 pts.    

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
