Seniors’ Open Golf on June 7th 2023

On Wednesday, 7th June 148 players from all over the south west gathered for a 2 ball Texas scramble at Wells. In warm and sunny conditions the players had an extremely pleasurable day playing a format which is not typically played but which is highly enjoyable. The dry and slightly windy conditions meant that the ball was running a long way and holding the greens was tricky.

There were 24 prizes, with awards going to high and low handicap pairings as well as home and away players.

The best High Handicap pairing was Trevor Cook and Paul Hole (Wells) with 59 points whilst 2nd were Barry Hembrow and Dave Stowell from Vivary Park with 63 points.  In the Low Handicap category first place went to John Price and Paul Coleman from Oake Manor with 62 points whilst 2nd were Stephen Yates and Philip Beasley from Tiverton with 64 points.
