Rogers' Cup Quarter final

The Roger’s Cup, a county team ladies knockout, saw Wells GC take on Weston-s-Mare GC at Bath GC on Friday 18th July.

Thank you to Sandy Heath, playing captain, who took a team of valiant players and caddies to Bath GC.

It was a tough match with decidedly ’crispy’ conditions due to the lengthy drought.  The ball was running well but good chipping and putting were essential.

Perhaps the conditions better suited Weston-s-Mare players, who came away with a 5 1/2 to 1 1/2 win.

Sandy Heath won1 up, on the 18th.  Erica Klim finished strongly with a half.  Tina Davies’ match went to the 20th hole before losing to a strong opponent.  Veronica Cherry lost on the 18th.  

As a first time caddy, it was good to see the match in action and witness a chip-in and a birdie by Sandy during her round.
